At Ayunutriment, we look at wellness as a conversation between food, breath, movement, and mindset. In this post, you’ll learn how to combine simple nutrition choices with a short yoga practice so your body feels lighter, calmer, and more resilient.

Why digestion needs both food and movement
Digestion isn’t only about what you eat—it’s also about how your nervous system is functioning. When stress is high, the body shifts away from ‘rest-and-digest.’ Gentle yoga, breathwork, and warm, fiber-rich meals can support regularity, reduce bloating, and improve appetite cues.

The 7-day food framework (simple, Indian-friendly)
Aim for: (1) warm cooked meals, (2) 25–35g fiber/day from vegetables, fruits, dals, and whole grains, (3) adequate protein at each meal, and (4) hydration spaced through the day. Keep ultra-processed snacks minimal for this week.
Breakfast ideas: vegetable poha + curd; oats porridge with nuts + fruit; moong dal chilla with chutney. Lunch ideas: dal + rice + sabzi + salad; khichdi with ghee + sautéed veggies; millet roti with paneer/tofu + greens.
Dinner ideas: early, light, and warm—vegetable soup + protein; dalia khichdi; stir-fried veggies + tofu/paneer. If you’re prone to acidity, keep dinner 2–3 hours before sleep.
10-minute digestion yoga sequence
Try this daily: 1) Cat–Cow (1 min), 2) Child’s Pose (1 min), 3) Seated Twist (1 min each side), 4) Supine Knees-to-Chest (1 min), 5) Wind-Relieving Pose (30 sec each side), 6) Legs-Up-The-Wall (3–5 min). Keep the breath slow and nasal.

Common mistakes that worsen bloating
Eating too fast, skipping protein, drinking large amounts of water during meals, and late-night heavy dinners can all contribute. Also watch for trigger foods (excess fried foods, very spicy meals, carbonated drinks) and adjust gradually.
A gentle checklist for the week
Daily: 2 fruits, 3–5 servings vegetables, 1–2 bowls dal/beans, 1 bowl curd (if tolerated), 20–30 minutes walking, and the 10-minute yoga sequence. Track bloating, stool regularity, and energy—not just weight.
